The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Security team is looking for a Software Development Engineer who has a strong passion for security:at:scale. You will work on a small team dedicated to rapidly building new tooling and features to improve AWS Security capabilities. You will be dropped into an API:centric and data driven environment, develop a broad and deep understanding of the overall AWS security posture, and relentlessly drive incremental security improvements. You will work closely with our Threat Intel and Security Operations teams to build solutions to address pressing security issues. The AWS IT Security team is responsible for the security and availability of all of the services offered by AWS, including EC2, S3, and more than 40 others. This is a high visibility team that solves security challenges at a massive scale. Responsibilities: Develop internal automation to improve security incident response capabilities and security situational awarenessRapidly prototype and incubate new security features and solutionsIdentify AWS security gaps and help determine the best solutions to close those gaps.Work closely with other internal development teams across various AWS services to coordinate security improvementsDevelop solutions to simplify the processing of massive amounts of dataDeliver high quality solutions in a hyper:growth environment where priorities shift fastBS degree in Computer Science or related field, or 5+ years of equivalent work experience3 + years of professional software development experience1 + years multiple programming languages developing scalable and maintainable applications or servicesUnderstanding of security engineering, system and network security, authentication and security protocols, cryptography, or application securityAbility to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast:paced environmentStrong sense of ownership, urgency, and driveExperience building distributed web:based applications or services at massive scaleKnowledge of Linux/Unix tools and architectureExtensive knowledge of internet security issues and threat landscapeExperience with AWS or other cloud computing platformsPrior experience leading the delivery of large:scale distributed systemsData:driven and quantitative mentality.
