SSG provides specialized engineering, analysis and operations support to a variety of Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DoD) customers. We support the generation after next of national security:related systems based in space, in the air and on the ground.SSG has an opening for an experienced engineer to provide customer:facing systems engineering and technical advisory services to an IC Research and Development (R and D) customer. The customer is developing the next:generation of spacecraft architectures, hardware and software solutions for the IC. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Work with the customerA?s Program Managers System Engineering principles and technical expertise to help define, acquire, deploy, manage and maintain complex satellite ground architecturesWork with the customer to explore new missions, CONOPs, and architectures to solve some of the hardest intelligence problems, conducting and presenting trade studies and proposed architectural solutions for customerDevelop, capture and decompose requirements to support program / systems acquisition. Develop and manage interface control documentsProvide support to acquisition, source selection and programmatic processes, including: contracts artifact development, tracking and source selection support; preparation for milestone and program reviews; support to program budget, schedule, risk management, configuration management, and governance briefings.Guide programs through various risk reduction test and readiness reviewsWork with the customerA?s Program Managers to support research and development (R and D) of future spacecraft architectures, capabilities and systemsProvide technical support as needed for execution of customer tasksBachelor degree in engineering, science, or related discipline10 yearsA? experience in space systems engineering and integration5 yearsA? System Engineering experience using DODAF or equivalent concepts and productsDemonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and energetic environmentWorking knowledge of configuration management, baseline control contract requirements specifications and verification and validation proceduresExperience building strategic relationships across directorates / IC agenciesEffective interpersonal skills and strong briefing and writing skillsGood working knowledge of MS Office applicationsAptitude for on:site Systems Engineering and Technical Advisor (SETA) workAdvanced degree in engineering, science, or related discipline 10 years System Engineering experience using DODAF or equivalent concepts and products5 years supporting satellite ground systemsExperience with spacecraft integration and testing including systems engineering as applied to satellite/ground architectures, spacecraft and payloadsExperience with schedule, financial, technical and risk aspects of spacecraft programsAbility to use STK to perform mission analysisExperience in data collection, data processing, sensor principles, concept of operations (CONOPS)Experience with the government acquisition cycle, requirements processes, budgetary practices and acquisition documentationExperience consulting on current and future IC satellites acquisition and constructionExperience with Satellite TT and C systems and knowledge of COMSEC technologiesExperience with RFC and DR processesExperience with IC R and D organizations
