Job Description:/h3:
A growing manufacturing and distribution company in Dulles, VA with an excellent reputation in the erosion control and environmental industries is seeking to hire a Sales Engineer to lead future development of business and build upon the existing foundation.
The Sales Engineer is responsible for:
Being the principal relationship manager to the customers in the assigned region by aligning customer needs our products and applications, engineering, customer service, and marketing efforts.
Being in constant contact with our internal and external customers to identify opportunities, and define business requirements and goals
Understanding and assessing customer challenges and determining the customers technical specifications
Defining project scope and manage resources
Using technical knowledge of our products to resolve customer needs
Acting as a liaison between internal production, product engineering, customer service, and marketing departments to ensure that each department understand the customer requirements.
Identifying new sales channels, product applications, and new customers
Development of the Marketing strategy and implementation of initiatives and timelines to improve lead generation and retention.
Identifying export opportunities through market research, customer surveys, and web
Driving online and inbound leads for the company through both digital and traditional methods
Analyzing, reviewing, recommending and building strategic and tactical changes that drive business profitability, reach customers in new ways and to improve marketing ROI
Capturing larger average order sizes and managing margin performance.
Developing and implementing annual marketing plans which provide competitive analysis, market research, brand positioning, strategies and tactics to reach target audiences, and
measurement/metrics for success
Contribute to website management, update, usability, digital marketing, and traditional marketing strategies and provide plans to expand and continue to grow the company.
Potential candidates should be driven, flexible, honest and forward:thinking problem solvers. They should be able to set up short term and long:term goals to retain and acquire customers. They should have at least 1 year of sales experience, technical knowledge and great leadership abilities to carry out effective management of sales and engineering in the company. Position will require travelling.
Education and Experience
To qualify for this position, the ideal candidate should possess:
B.S. in Civil Engineering or a related field and at least 1 year of related technical sales experience.
Demonstrated history relating to customers where technical applications and engineering interface are essential to product sales
Computer skills, including MS Office Programs are a must. SalesForce experience a plus
Excellent customer relationship management skills
Must be able to efficiently organize and manage multiple priorities.
Proven experience in customer and market research, such as forecasting and competitive analysis.
Experience with managerial responsibilities and team development
Ability to lead teams with specialized responsibilities and enhance collaboration between teams
