A key technical member on a team supporting a federal agency to find and support the next generation of energy technologies. Leads scientific research and development efforts involving chemical engineering, such as fuels or electrochemistry. Provides technical and managerial direction for problem definition, analysis, requirement development and implementation for chemical engineering applied towards energy or utility use applications. Makes recommendations and advises on system development, improvements, optimization, or support efforts. Provides direct support to agency technical management for the following functions:Strategic Planning for Energy Technology Programs and Activities: Provides expert technical analysis of the state of the art and development of strategic and technical plans for new technology development programs.Application Evaluation and Selection Support Services: Supports the development of technical evaluation criteria, funding opportunity announcements, review, and analysis of R and D proposals for electrical engineering projects that advance energy efficiency or technologies.Project Management Support Services: Helps review, monitor and analyze technical progress of R and D projects. Provides expert technical analysis in support of energy commercialization.Required:Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering. Minimum 2:years post:Ph.D. experienceExcellent communication and relationship management skills.
