Job Description:/h3:
The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics is seeking an experienced Marketing Manager, who will be responsible for development and execution of internal and external marketing strategies and promotional plans that leverage market research and historical data to support the success of two of AIAAs five forums; management and implementation of annual marketing plan for AIAA individual and corporate memberships, growth plan activities, exhibit and sponsor sales, and continuing education courses; management of material development, proofing and fulfillment processes with graphic design, print production, and project managers; ensuring Institute messaging and branding are used consistently in marketing messages for assigned projects; management of web content for assigned projects; and development of regular analytics reports, using data to improve success of assigned projects, and helping the Institute identify and pursue new target areas for membership and forum/conference attendance.

:Develop and execute marketing plans, promotion schedules and program budgets
:Conduct competitive research that informs the positioning of AIAA forums and membership
:Work closely with team members and content providers to promote the AIAA brand and improve the integration of AIAAs marketing and communications efforts across assigned projects
:Manage production process of follow:up promotional video for assigned forums, which includes monitoring the event through attending, or through watching live stream to capture testimonials and sound bites
:Craft compelling and grammatically accurate promotional copy
:Ensure Institute messaging and branding are used consistently in marketing messaging
:Manage the posting of web content through the marketing coordinator for assigned projects
:Create queries and mailing lists through the Institutes association management system

Reporting Relationships:

:Reports to Director of Marketing

Position Dimensions:
:Produce all work consistent with AIAA branding and style guide
:Ensure projects achieve the desired results and are completed in a timely manner and within budget
:Work with multiple cross:functional teams (i.e. Design, Communications, IT, etc.) to assist with project and budget management
:Travel required approximately 2:3 times per year.


:Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, business administration or related discipline


:A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in marketing events, and/or membership
:High proficiency with project management, marketing implementation, market research and promotional copywriting
:Experience with Web content management systems, broadcast email systems and
membership/customer databases
:Excellent command of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
:Mid:level proficiency in Google Analytics
:Excellent editing and proofreading skills
:Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
:Knowledge of file formats for print and online environments

Additional Skills:
:Experience with Adobe Photoshop or similar photo:editing software
:Previous association or non:for:profit experience is a plus
:Previous experience with an association management system or CRM system (NETForum experience a plus) and email marketing systems (Informz experience a plus)
:High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
:Good listener with ability to accept and apply constructive feedback
