McAlisters Deli, in University Mall, has an opening for an experienced restaurant assistant manager. This fast:casual dining restaurant is known for our high:level of customer service and southern hospitality. Our fresh, wide:variety menu is family:friendly with healthy options for everyone. Position Details : This is a great opportunity for someone with 1:3 years experience, as a shift leader or an assistant manager, in a fast:casual or casual dining restaurant. Together the management team will be responsible for labor and inventory costs, sales growth inside the store and off:premise catering, new menu training and roll outs, team development and retension and ensuring that guest satisfaction is exceeded. We offer medical benefits, paid time off and other perks and benefits for our team members. The management team works 5 days a week and averages 45 hours, per week. Training will take place at our Herndon and Fairfax locations and lasts approximately 6 weeks. The first 3 weeks will be in Herndon and the hours are M:F 9am to 6pm. Please note, at this current time, the AM closes the restaurant 3:4 nights a week, including weekends. Our hours are Mon:Sat 10am to 9pm and Sun 11am to 7pm.

Our restaurants are open seven days a week. Due to the nature of our business, there are never any set schedules and managers typically work 5 days a week, 8:10 hours per day, with two days off. Hours can increase depending on the following conditions: staffing levels, opportunity, and the management teams performance. Our management teams responsibilities include but are not limited to: hiring, training, scheduling, managing labor expenses, running successful shifts, building business, marketing, product orders, invoice entry, inventory, calculating food cost, and other expense supervision. We teach our managers the business of restaurants therefore they are aware of, track, and control every expense, and are knowledgeable of all components of the budget and expectations. Our concept is customer driven and centered, with managers spending a great deal of time in the dining room during rushes, and being working:managers during slower times. We are a very hands:on company who tries to lead by example. Our management team supervises, mentors, and works directly with our valued team members on a daily basis in order to coach, grow, and develop our people and our restaurant.

*Work schedule set weekly at supervisor discretion and includes weekends and nights.
