What you’ll be doing...
This engineer will be responsible for the support and upkeep of a diverse set of infrastructure technologies and enterprise applications within complex customer environments. The engineer will serve as an escalation point for a 24x7 tier2 support team. Responsible for incident and problem management, as well as the documentation and successful implementation of change activities. This is a customer-facing engineering role.
Work city and state are flexible based on Verizon locations.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to have:
•Bachelor's degree or four of more years of work experience.
•Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Even better if you have:
•Deep support expertise with Windows Server operating systems.
•Deep support expertise with Linux based operating systems (RHEL, Ubuntu).
•Experience supporting large virtualized environments (vSphere, ESXi).
•Enterprise hardware support (Cisco UCS, Nutanix, Dell/EMC).
•Ability to support Anti-virus applications (McAfee/Symantec).
•Experience supporting enterprise backup applications (Netbackup preferred).
•Ability to support clustered systems and applications.
•Ability to monitor, diagnose and repair hardware and network issues.
•Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
•A sense of urgency with self-accountability and follow-through.
•Highly motivated self-starter that is able to work independently or as a member of a team.
•SAN certification (EMC, NetApp).
•Active Directory competency.
•Experience with MS System Center products.
•Experience with Contact Center applications.
