Insight Policy Research, Inc. (Insight), a rapidly growing, dynamic, small research and evaluation organization, is seeking an experienced Senior Study Director to join our team.

We are a well-established small business, having provided nationally recognized research and evaluation services to federal, state, and private sector clients for the past 15 years. Our focus is on issues affecting at-risk and vulnerable populations. Headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, we conduct research in the areas of education, health, nutrition, and family support services.

Position Summary
The essential functions of this position include design and analysis of rigorous large scale research projects and program evaluations, working with national data sets, conducting statistical analyses, contributing to reports and proposals, supervising junior staff members and interacting with clients. The applicant should be familiar with all stages of research and analysis, planning and implementing successful studies from literature review and research design to final reports and presentations.

✔ Plan, implement, and manage multiple large scale research projects and program evaluations
✔ Provide expertise in statistical analysis, software programming applications, modeling approaches, and evaluation research design
✔ Compile and analyze survey data from primary data collection, administrative data, or large, national surveys
✔ General project management tasks and other duties as needed

✔ Ph.D. in Education, Statistics, or a Social Science and 2 years of experience
✔ Master’s degree and 5 years of experience

✔ Experience working with large-scale datasets produced by the National Center for Education Statistics
✔ Content expertise in educational policy and analysis, secondary and post-secondary education preferred
✔ Familiarity analyzing large complex survey data, including the ability to create and run syntax using statistical analysis software (SAS preferred)
✔ Advanced statistical analysis, such as multi-level modeling, growth modeling, factor analysis, longitudinal analyses, and multivariate techniques
✔ Basic knowledge of psychometrics, scale creation, and measurement theory
✔ Experience in primary data collection, data management , and the creation of codebooks and documentation
✔ Strong analytical skills to identify the best statistical approaches and techniques and shape key findings, revising research design as necessary
✔ Project management experience with an eye for detail and quality assurance
✔ Proven oral and written communications skills
