Bishop Ireton High School, a co-educational high school serving over 800 students in Alexandria, seeks a highly experienced Senior Director of Institutional Advancement.

The Senior Director of Institutional Advancement oversee Development, Communications and Admissions for Bishop Ireton High School and has direct oversight for growing revenue generating activity. He or she will manage the Director of Development and Alumni Relations, Director of Admissions, Director of Communications and Advancement Officer. This is a full time, 12-month position reporting directly to the Head of School.

• Work collaboratively with the Head of School and Executive Assistant to maximize School leadership’s time and attention on external relations activities
• Develop and maintain an annual plan and timetable to include:
✔ Maintenance of an outreach calendar for all of external relations
✔ Fundraising
➫ Major Gift and Annual Giving activity growth
➫ Expansion of the Head of School Circle through strategic outreach
➫ Establishment of constituency-based segmentation design
➫ Direct mail development, writing and execution
✔ Alumni Relations
➫ Reunion planning, execution and fundraising
➫ Alumni Relations communications and engagement activities
✔ Admissions growth with annual markers
• Report regularly to the Board of Governors on progress in fundraising and enrollment
• Identify, train, and maintain relationships with internal and external volunteers to assist in external relations programming as needed
• Work collaboratively with Bishop Ireton faculty and staff to grow a culture of philanthropy
• Regularly attend internal and external fundraising, enrollment and alumni relations events
• Directly oversee and report on the overall departmental budget
• Oversee and mentor the Director of Communications, Director of Admissions, Advancement Officer, and Database Manager
• Conduct a minimum number of personal visits annually

Job Requirements
Education and Experience
• 5 to 7 years of development experience in an educational setting
• 1 to 2 years of direct management experience
• Bachelor’s degree required, Masters degree preferred
• Independent school fundraising experience
• Familiarity with donor and prospect management software, particularly Raisers Edge
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including PowerPoint, Excel and Word
• Proficient in web research
