What you’ll be doing...

The Risk Management Consultant is responsible for supporting corporate wide and Strategic Sourcing specific improvement initiatives.

The primary focus is to drive the change management effort for supplier risk management with a focus on relationship management by fostering new relationships with different stakeholders involved depending on the needs of the Supplier Risk Office (SRO).

This person is expected to apply analytical skills to make decisions to help drive changes through business acumen and technology savviness. They will seek out and implement process improvements and best practices that can be leveraged and drive efficiency across Sourcing and the Global Supply Chain Organization. The individual will effectively collaborate with IT, Sourcing, Finance, Global Supply Chain Systems support, and business stakeholders. They will provide operational support and assist in leading projects in production and presentations to cross functional leadership.

This person will provide support for Risk Assessment team and have the ability to manipulate data in order to communicate project success trends.

This position requires a minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience in areas such as systems, sourcing, supply chain, business and financial analytics or change management. Also required is strategic thinking with the ability to be self-directed, and to manage multiple deliverables in a dynamic environment where requirements and constraints may evolve frequently.

  • Support SRO by auditing the pre-Inherent Risk Questionnaires (IRQs), full IRQs and DDQs (Due Diligence Questionnaires. Track discrepancies and contradictions. Determine priority of issues and follow-up schedule with internal business owners and strategic suppliers.

  • Work with CFT’s to ensure correct information is reported into Risk Management Tool, Archer. Be a relationship manager who can develop new relationships with different stakeholders involved depending on needs of the SRO.

  • Liaise with internal and external parties, as it relates to the Third Party Risk Management Oversight Program for the Verizon. Follow-up with CSE’s and Org sponsor to keep vSource up to date for BAU.

  • Lead and support collaborations with business stakeholders, internal partners and align with senior management. Develop and track detailed project plans and Standard operating procedures. Provide operational support for projects in production and presentations to cross functional leadership

  • Completes and audits on-going annual risk reviews and control assurance activity as necessary to determine if Verizon should engage in business with a supplier.

  • Provide support for end to end Program management and have the ability to manipulate data and perform analysis in order to devise results to allow decision making to ensure with project success trends.

  • Provide reporting support for program metrics to enhance operational adherence to Sourcing policies and procedures. Develop and produce program metrics and provide in presentation format for executive review and decision making. Monitors, and analyzes KPIs and KRIs.

  • Identify and provide support to risk owners to allow the clear communication to business owners and stakeholders with coaching or clarification through the Risk Management process. Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.

  • Identify emerging risks and trends (both internal and external) that could have a negative impact on Verizon businesses through the risk assessment to minimize risk of contracting with a supplier through comprehensive audits of pre-IRQs, IRQs and DDQs. Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors as required.

  • Collaborates with other Sourcing leaders, for the purpose of responding to questions on audits and/or preparing work aids, manuals, policies and procedures for use by Sourcing personnel, business owners and external suppliers.

  • Have a high customer focus with communication skills and be able to lead user training and focus groups to help end users understand Archer and SRO processes.

  • Follow a detailed project plan and track progress. Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation. Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document processes.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Four or more years of experience in Sourcing, Procurement, Change Management or Supply Chain.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree.

  • Telecommunications industry and Risk Planning experience.

  • Ability to work independently and make sound business decisions.

  • Well organized, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks.

  • Ability to prioritize projects, establish realistic timelines/milestones and achieve results.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management including senior leaders.

  • Strong relationship management including peers, executives, internal/external customers, third party vendors, and various stakeholders.

  • Ability to produce accurate and timely information in a highly dynamic work environment with strong Customer Focus mindset.

  • Strong technical experience with Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Analytical skills and communication skills.
