Lion Federal, a high-end information technology consulting firm that provides talented resources to the U.S. Federal government located right outside our nation’s capital, has an immediate need for an Electrical Engineer for Procurement and Construction contracts. EE will be responsible for Building Services Renovations and Construction to US Government Owned Aerospace and Defense Facilities. Design, Installation, Start-up and Commissioning of Mechanical Facility Systems;

Duties:

· Development and production of engineering construction documents, and the design and specification of lighting, power distribution, and medium and low voltage systems.
· Provides electrical engineering support and conducts activities related to short- and long-term infrastructure planning and capital improvement construction projects.
· Advises and works with customers to analyze, design and complete facilities design and support construction projects.
· Designs power, lighting, and electrical distribution systems for Government buildings.
· Designs and prepares electrical construction documents and specifications for building renovations and new construction projects.
· Performs calculations for lighting, power equipment, distribution, conductor sizing, fault calculations and coordination of electrical devices and overall system.
· Prepares construction drawings utilizing AutoCAD software platforms to produce Federal, State and Local Code compliant designs.
· Performs field investigation of existing conditions for new and renovation projects.
· Participates in walk-through of completed projects and prepare punch lists.
· Applies engineering principles and methodology to translate customer requirements into feasible options that meet expectations regarding scope, resources and cost.
· Helps maintain relevant facility electrical design and configuration documentation and records.
· Researches technologies related to facilities, shares learning with others and trains personnel regarding operation and maintenance of assets.
· Utilizes leadership abilities and client maintenance skills.
· Works with the Architectural, Mechanical engineering, IT and other disciplines, and work as part of a design team to provide the electrical design to meet the building, equipment and systems requirements and standards.
· Meets with customers to develop design requirements and refine project Scope of Work.
· US Citizen
·Prefer experience working in a government facility.


Requires:

· Top Secret Clearance
· Degree in Electrical Engineering
· Experience working in Technical software packages (e.g., AutoCAD, SixSigma, Pipeflow, ARCHGIS, Trane Trace, vendor equipment selection software)
· Engineering calculations (e.g., heating and cooling load, hydronic pressure drop, static pressure drop, NPSH, psychrometric, utility utilization projections)
