Job Description:/h3:
The position of Power Electronics Systems Engineer will assist senior project engineers with the research, design, engineering and testing of AC and DC Power Systems associated with Battery Energy Storage Systems. Power Electronics Systems Engineer is required to have solid understanding of power electronics and its associated controls system around inverters for grid tied energy storage systems. Experience with AC/DC Inverters, Buck Boost Converters, PWM(Pulse Width Modulation), SVM (Space Vector Modulation) and DSP and board level controls is a plus.
Minimum Qualifications and Job Duties
:Assist in assessment of core equipment utilized in energy storage systems including batteries and Inverters.
:Lead evaluation of Power Electronics such as AC/DC Converters, DC/DC Converters, Power Supplies etc used in Battery Storage System.
:Lead R and D efforts on development of Analog and DSP level controls to control inverter for specific Energy Storage System applications.
:Assist procurement team with vendor evaluation and organization of various equipment available and required for supporting engineering actives for Energy Storage Systems.
:Perform modelling, simulations and analysis of integrating BESS into Electrical Grid.
:Draft and simulate electrical schematics and short circuit analysis in ETAP (preferred), PSPICE, Microstation, Revit, and/or ORCAD.
:Applicant should have good communication skills, be motivated, organized, self:sufficient, personable, curious, and able to complete tasks without strict oversight.
:Applicant should be able to describe and explain in detail voltage, current, power, energy, charge, resistance, inductance, capacitance, and other fundamental electrical engineering principals.
:Understanding of and experience with Single line and Three line diagrams.
:Understanding of DC voltage, AC voltage, single:phase, and three:phase power.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
:Detailed power electronics knowledge of AC/DC Inverters, Buck/Boost DC/DC Converters, pulse width modulation (PWM), space vector modulation (SVM)
:Knowledge and experience of oscilloscopes and their operation, power quality analysis, harmonics
:Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLC) and industrial electronics panels
General Qualifications:
:Doctorates or Masters in Electrical, Electronics engineering with focus on Power System and Power Electronics
:Prior experience with Renewables, Electrical Storage Systems is plusCompany Description:/h3:
