Associate Consultant World Wide Professional Services Organization

Associate Consultant will work with our highly talented and experienced VMware Professional Services Team to deliver creative solutions to our customers to help unlock the benefits of our VMware products. In this role, you will use your technical, consultative, communication, and leadership skills to support the successful implementation of VMWare software solutions (Cloud, Mobility, Network/Security) in a variety of industry verticals and customer environments. You will have the opportunity to work directly with the client and other team members on the day-to-day tasks involved with the solution delivery, including, but not limited to: planning, customer assessments, system configuration, testing, training, troubleshooting, and technical issue resolution. VMware does not sponsor immigration for this role.

Role and Responsibilities:

* Ability to obtain and maintain, at minimum, a VMware Datacenter Virtualization Certification; expectation is that you will possess advanced certifications following the first full year on the job

* Learn and maintain current knowledge of complete VMware product set and can describe key features and benefits of each

* Ability to install and configure VMWare software, including all relevant 3rd party technical components.

* Support solution implementation activities including requirements gathering & analysis, design, configuration, testing, and issues resolution, both on-site at the client location and remotely.

* Support training efforts, including the creation of user documentation and hands-on training exercises, for both operational and technical users.

* Provide solution feedback to our Product Management team to allow for continuous product improvement based on internal and external product experiences.

* Support Quality Engineering activities, including testing and documentation of software product issues.

* Ability to establish clear, accurate project timelines and schedules; Monitor progress against plan; build in and execute contingency plans as necessary.

* Actively troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during implementation.

* Update and maintain project issues list, which includes prioritization of issues

* Assist in developing standard, reusable VMware consulting service offerings, including definition of tasks, deliverables and standard estimates

* Assist in documenting technical and consultative standard practices for developing and deploying VMware solutions

* Work as a contributing member of a broad Public Sector consulting team to increase and improve the team's capabilities, knowledge and expertise

* Establish positive working relationships internal and external

Required Skills/Education:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, MIS, Mathematics, or equivalent

* High interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team and a customer-facing environment

* Excellent Communication Skills (both written and verbal)

* Strong problem-solving skills

* Willing to travel up to 80% of the time

Desired Skills/Experience:

* Hands on IT experience from either Internships, Co-Ops, Work Experience and/or Projects

* VMware product knowledge/experience

* Client Facing Work Experience

* Application Development Experience

* Development of Integrated Solutions

* Leadership experience through either leading campus extracurricular activities (e.g., clubs) or volunteer work

Professional Services Organization (PSO) Academy Overview:

The Consultant will go through an intense 8 - 12 week boot camp once joining the company, and will continue to build strengths by learning from other experienced consultants/professional services personnel. All new hires must be available to travel for the duration of the training.
