We are seeking motivated, career and customer oriented DevOps Engineers interested in joining our team in Chantilly, VA and exploring an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems. Key Responsibilities:Work closely with technical and business level contacts both to gain understanding of the requirements and demonstrate the ability to meet those requirements Work with the Technical team to ensure the associated hardware resource allocation to the databases Proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime Responsible for problem escalation to Development team and COTS Tech Support as appropriate Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases/middleware to include rollout and upgrades/patches Perform daily monitoring and maintenance of Databases and on call responsibilities. Configuration and Change Management of database/middleware environments Define and perform system backups and recovery procedures. Monitor and test system performance and provide performance statistics and reports Recommend and execute modifications to systems in order to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance Develop and maintain systems documentationPerform database/middleware capacity planning and trend analysis Monitors Databases and middleware for optimal performance acting quickly to mitigate performance issues. Troubleshoot ETL and data quality issues Installation of application releases in production and non:production environmentsPerforms database and middleware administration, backups and recoveries, and works with users and development teams to resolve database questions or problems. Coordinates systems resource availability with database analysts, system and application programmers, and other users.General Skills: Able to think logically and analytically in a problem:solving environment Possess imaginative abstract reasoning Able to work as part of a team Self:reliant and able to work independently Capacity to gain a thorough knowledge of the relevant specialty area Willing to continuously update personal IT skills and knowledge Have a proven ability to manage client expectation and have the ability to ensure high satisfaction of the client. Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical writing.Other Special Requirements:Must be available during core business hours of 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM and also be able to provide support during evenings, weekends, and holidays as required to implement changes or fixes. MUST be a US Citizen or Green Card/Permanent Resident Holder.Must currently hold a Public Trust clearance or have the ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearanceCandidates currently living in the DC Metropolitan Area are preferred Requires shift and on:call work : currently operating hours are Monday through Friday 6am:10pm and weekends from 8:30 am: 4:30pmTechnical Background: Minimum 10 years of hands:on work related experience Hands:on experience implementing and configuring cloud environments (e.g. AWS, SalesForce, Azure) Experience in implementing infrastructure as code Experience in at least ONE technology/tool from each category:Configuration Management: Ansible (preferred), Chef, or PuppetShell Scripting: BASH, PowerShellSystems Administration: Linux (RHEL), WindowsCI/CD Tools: Jenkins, Go CDBuild Automation: Maven, GradleVersion Management: Git (preferred), SVNWeb Server: Apache, Nginx, HAProxyProgramming Languages: Python, Ruby, JavaAgile Methodologies: Kanban (preferred), ScrumEducation:A MasterA?s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline.
